[Resources] Procedural Buildings using Geometry Nodes 🏢

Published almost 3 years ago • 1 min read

Hey Reader,

Zach here, with another round of useful and inspiring CG and Blender related resources.

Cubic Worlds Campfire Animation Breakdown

If you haven't gone through my new Cubic Worlds course for Blender yet, I just published a new video, where I break down how the main "Campfire" scene, which we are creating in the course, was created.

There I'll give you an overview about the modeling and shading process, on how the scene is organized, how the particle and procedural animations where done, and how the camera and light was set up.

If you want to learn every aspect on how the scene was created and much more, you can still join the Cubic Worlds course, with 20% Early Bird Discount (ends next week, July 6th).

"Superflous" Addictive Car Animation (Blender EEVEE)

Shashwat Patkar has put together an amazing car animation, rendered in Blender EEVEE. The flow of the camera and combination with music makes it very addictive to watch. I played it over and over again. 😵

Procedural Building using Geometry Nodes (Tutorial)

Geometry Nodes are the new "hot thing" in Blender, which are essentially modifiers using nodes, altering the geometry of a mesh. The Youtube channel Kammerbild, put out a great multi-part tutorial on how to create procedural buildings using Geometry Nodes, that can be adjusted with a few sliders.

That's it for this week, now enjoy your weekend and stay creative!

~Zach

I’ve got something for you that can help you understand the walk cycle animation inside out. My friend Brian Kouhi (a professional animator and founder of ToAnimate) shared a full 1-hour-long lesson on making a walk cycle...

Hey Reader, Zach here, If you are struggling to find the motivation to learn 3D, or if you have abandoned projects and courses half way, you are most definitely not alone. In fact, I believe it is the most common struggle all artists go through. This also happened to Tetiana Markov, one of our passionate CG Boost students and challenge participants. We were very excited to interview her, to share her story of how she overcame all kinds of self-doubt and got her work featured on Blender Nation...

Hey Reader, Zach here, For the past 6 years, our tutor Martin Klekner has been hard at work, exploring all the possible ways to create epic 3D environments in Blender. As a personal challenge, he tried it without the use of any paid add-ons, the results of all his research he accumulated in his Master 3D Environments in Blender course. 3D scenes you learn to create in the environment course. As Martin’s challenge and his course prove - making awesome, grand scale landscapes in Blender is...
